EATON’S FERRY BRIDGE CROSSING
WARREN COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA
Sealed bids will be received by Warren County at the Warren County Public Utilities Office, 712 U.S. Hwy. 158 Business West, Warrenton, North Carolina on Thursday, April 17, 2014 until 2:00 p.m. local time and immediately thereafter publicly opened and read, for constructing the following facilities:
Eaton’s Ferry Bridge Crossing
Bids must be submitted on the complete project. Bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope, addressed to Warren County Public Utilities Office, 712 U.S. Hwy. 158 Business West, P.O. Box 577, Warrenton, North Carolina 27589, and the outside of the envelope must be marked “Bid for Eaton’s Ferry Bridge Crossing”. All bids must be made on blank forms provided and included in the bound document. The name, address, and license number with limitation and classification of the Bidder must be plainly marked thereon.
Each bid must be accompanied by cash or a certified check, drawn on a bank or trust company authorized to do business in North Carolina, payable to Warren County in an amount at least equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, as a guarantee that a contract will be entered into. In lieu of cash or a certified check, the Bidder may submit a bid bond in the form prescribed in G.S. 143 129 as amended by Chapter 1104 of the Public Laws of 1951.
Contractors are notified that North Carolina G.S. 87 relating to licensing of contractors will be observed in receiving bids and awarding contracts.
In accordance with the Minority Participation Goals, potential prime Contractor(s), should attend the Pre-Bid Conference to be held at Warren County Public Utilities Office, 712 U.S. Hwy. 158 Business West, Warrenton, North Carolina on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. local time.
The major items of work include:
Construction of a water main crossing Lake Gaston along NC Hwy. 903 (Eaton’s Ferry Road) consisting of approximately 3,550 linear feet of 8” PVC and 165 linear feet of 8” restrained joint DIP water main installed on the causeway, 1,205 linear feet of 8” restrained joint DIP water main attached to the Eaton’s Ferry Bridge and associated appurtenances in Warren County, North Carolina.
Plans and specifications are on file and may be examined at the office of the Engineer, Rivers and Associates, Inc., Greenville, North Carolina, at Warren County Public Utilities, 712 U.S. Hwy. 158 Business West, Warrenton, North Carolina, at Carolinas AGC at http://www.cagc.org on IBuild, and at the Hispanic Contractors of the Carolinas Plan Room in Charlotte, North Carolina. Plans and specifications may be obtained upon application to the Engineer, accompanied with a plan deposit check in the amount of $75.00. Deposit will be refunded in full to all bona fide bidders provided plans and specifications are returned in good condition within ten (10) days after opening of bid.
With request for Bidding Documents supply the following information: Company name, contact person, street address, and phone and fax numbers for Bidding office; N.C. contractor’s license with limitation and classification; indicate if the firm will be a Bidder, Supplier or Subcontractor.
The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to award contract or contracts which, in the opinion of the Owner, appear to be in its best interest.
