The City of Fayetteville will accept sealed bids until 10:30 am, Wednesday, July 16, 2014, in the Airport Director’s Office on 3rd floor of the Airport Terminal, Fayetteville Regional Airport, 400 Airport Road, Suite 1, Fayetteville, North Carolina 28306, and immediately thereafter publicly open and read said bids for the furnishing of labor, materials and equipment for the following projects:
Air Carrier Apron Rehabilitation Phase II (Schedule A)
and Taxiway J & K Rehabilitation (Schedule B)
Work for Schedule A consists of, but is not limited to, removal of 8,000 SY +/- of existing concrete and asphalt pavement, construction of 8,000 SY +/- of 5” of Stabilized Base Course and 9,000 SY +/- of 13” to 16” P-501 Portland Cement Concrete Pavement. The work also includes concrete pavement repairs, cured-in-place lining of drainage pipe, construction of asphalt paved shoulders, new apron edge lights, pavement markings and incidental work items. Final bid and/or construction items and quantities may vary.
Work for Schedule B consists of, but is not limited to, earthwork (15,000 CY +/-), storm drainage, erosion control, pavement removal (15,000 SY +/-), FAA P-403/P-401 asphalt paving (9,000 tons +/-), asphalt paved shoulders, taxiway lights and lighted signs, pavement markings and incidental work items. Final bid and/or construction items and quantities may vary.
A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at 10:30 am, in the Airport Conference Room, 1st floor of the airport terminal building. Contractors will be allowed to ask questions and to discuss the project with the Owner and Engineer. At the conclusion of the meeting and with weather permitting, a tour of the project area will be conducted to allow contractors to see the project area. Attendance at the Pre-Bid Meeting is NOT mandatory, however is strongly recommended.
Plans and specifications, including Contract Documents, will be open to public inspection in the offices of the Public Works Commission’s Purchasing Department, PWC Administration Building, 955 Old Wilmington Road, Fayetteville, North Carolina, and are being furnished to ISQFT (www.isqft.com) for on-line posting.
These projects carry a DBE participation goal of 11.7%. Only DBE firms certified as such by NCDOT will apply toward the goal.
Bid documents, plans & specifications may be viewed at and obtained from the Engineer, Talbert & Bright, Inc., 4810 Shelley Drive, Wilmington NC 28405, Tel. (910) 763-5350, Fax (910) 762-6281. All bidders must register as plan holders with the Engineer and acquire a hard copy of the bid documents. A non-refundable charge of $200.00 (two hundred dollars) is required for each document set to cover printing and shipping costs. Checks should be payable to Talbert & Bright, Inc. Documents sets will be sent by UPS Ground; alternative shipping will be provided at the requester’s expense. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive all informalities concerning bid, or award bid to the lowest responsible bidder or bidders, taking into consideration quality, performance and the time specified for the performance of the contract.
