CITY OF SANFORD
GASTERS CREEK LIFT STATION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
Pursuant to North Carolina Statutes Section 143-129, sealed bids will be received by the City of Sanford, North Carolina until 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2014, and then publicly opened and read aloud for the construction of GASTERS CREEK LIFT STATION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT: PUMP ADDITION. All bids must be sealed and clearly marked “SEALED BID – GASTERS CREEK LIFT STATION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT: PUMP ADDITION” and returned to the Office of the City Engineer, 225 E. Weatherspoon Street, Sanford, North Carolina 27330.
This project includes the installation of one (1) new submersible pump (1,600 gpm, 184’ TDH), associated 12-inch discharge piping and valves, and associated electrical improvements including one (1) new RVAT starter and replacement of the existing 480V switchboard.
Each bidder shall be appropriately licensed as a Public Utilities Contractor in the State of North Carolina as provided in the General Statutes Chapter 87 and have the ability to produce evidence of experience in construction of projects of similar size and nature. Bidders must be able to comply with all local, state, and federal contract provisions as specified in the contract documents.
The cost for Contract Document is $50.00 per full size set. The cost of Contract Documents is not refunded. Submit check, cashier check or money order for payment. Cash will not be accepted.

Each bid must be accompanied by cash, certified check of the bidder, or a bid bond prepared on the form of bid bond as shown in the Contract Documents, duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Owner, in the amount of 5% of the bid.
The City of Sanford reserves the right to adopt the most advantageous interpretation of the bids submitted in the case of ambiguity or lack of clearness in stating proposal prices, to reject any or all bids, and/or waive formalities. Bids may not be withdrawn within sixty (60) days from date on which bids are opened.
