8th Annual Black Natural Hair and Health Expo to Feature Woman With the Largest Afro in the World

Killeen, TX — The 8th annual Armed Forces Natural Hair and Health Expo (AFNHHE) will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at the Killeen Civic & Conference Center at 3601 S. WS Young Drive in Killeen, Texas. The event will feature workshops, demonstrations, entertainment and a natural hair and fashion show for children and adults directed by Runway Fierce and a natural hair contest. The Expo is expected to attract attendees from nationwide. Free gift bags to the first 100 attendees.

This year’s special guest is Aevin Dugas, Guinness World Record Holder of the World’s Largest Afro (Female). Aevin will be there to display her afro and take pictures with the attendees. Performers at previous Expos include actress/comedienne Kim Coles, comedian Michael Colyar, violinist Daniel D., R&B artist Noel Gourdin and L.Young.

In addition to more than 30 booths and exhibits covering natural hair and health, the expo provides workshops for attendees, which include information on women in the military wearing their natural hair according to the military regulations, natural hair care, and hair braiding and many others.

“I hope that people are educated and empowered by learning more about their natural hair and health,” said Luvina Sabree, founder of the Expo and the owner of So Natural Catering. Sabree is an Army veteran and a registered nurse.

So Natural Catering will be the main caterer at this event. So Natural Catering was renovated by Food Network’s Restaurant Impossible.
