te citizens. The whole purpose of the tour reinforces that more of us shou
ld better understand\, appreciate and acknowledge how all of this relates
to the present and future.
During the trip\, we will visit the
birth home of Dr. King and walk along historic 'Sweet Auburn Avenue' in At
lanta and the Martin Luther King Center where his tomb rests. We will reli
ve the experience of the bravery of the people who endured 'Bloody Sunday'
\, then made the harrowing Selma to Montgomery March for voting rights. We
will be better able to understand the inspiring words of Dr. King who led
the March as well as get to know the unsung heroes\, ordinary men and wom
en who risked their lives to register Blacks to vote. We will relive Rosa
Park's nonviolent protest in Montgomery that inspired the movement that he
lped open equal access to public facilities. We will also spend time in Bi
rmingham and in Memphis we will visit the Internationally acclaimed Nation
al Civil Rights Museum and Lorraine Hotel where Dr. King was slain.

br />Many historians have acknowledged that the work and sacrifices of Dr.
King and other pioneers of the Civil Rights Movement helped pave the way
for the election of America's first African American President. Museums in
Montgomery\, Birmingham and Memphis are adding new attractions which will
highlight and educate citizens with timelines and events which helped cha
nge the trajectory of multiracial attitudes and voting patterns nationwide

South St. The Heritage Calendar is a celebration of 12 men and women of all race s who have contributed significantly to the lives and experiences of Afric an-Americans in North Carolina. The gala\, a n exclusive red carpet event\, will celebrate the invaluable role each hon oree has made in weaving the rich tapestry that is North Carolina’s dive rse history\, and will promote the individual stories and lives of all hon orees to inspire the state’s future generation of leaders. The evening w ill include a VIP welcome reception for the honorees and their families\, two live performances from local schools and universities\, a special cale ndar signing\, and meet and greet with the honorees for all attendees dire ctly following the event. ular and humorous commentators. In 2001\, he was named Humorist of the Yea
r by Time magazine and received the Thurber Prize for American Humor.

On the heels of his starring role in the hit movie “Think Like A Man\,” actor and comedian Kevin Hart announces he will extend his “Let Me Explain” tour which moves from s old-out theaters to arena dates this fall. Hart has performed for more th an 334\,000 fans during the 2011 and 2012 theater run of “Let Me Explai n.”
\nKevin starred in the Screen Gems film “Think Like A Man\, a comedy based on Steve Harvey's bestselling book “Act Like A Lady\, Think Like A Man” from 2009. The movie was number one at the box offic e for two consecutive weeks. Hart also had a supporting role in Universal & Nick Stoller’s comedy “Five Year Engagement” by producer Judd Ap atow.
\nKevin Hart burst onto the scene as one of the most versatile comedy actors in film and television. In September 2011 Hart released Laugh At My Pain\,” the feature film version of his comedy tour (under the same name). The movie grossed over $7 million\, and was 2011’s mos t successful film of those released in less than 300 theaters. The “LAM P” tour made Hart 2011’s number one comedian on Ticketmaster\, and in February 2011 Hart sold out the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles for two nig hts in a row to break the previous box office record by an African Americ an comedian set by Eddie Murphy. The “LAMP” DVD hit double platinum i n February 2012\, after being on sale for one month.
\nHart’s DVD “Seriously...Funny” is one of the fastest selling DVDs in recent yea rs and has gone triple Platinum. His Comedy Central special of the same n ame is the highest rated comedy special of 2010.
\nIn 2009\, Hart’ s one-hour comedy special “I’m a Grown Little Man” on Comedy Centra l was also one of the highest rated specials for the network.
