In “The Funk & Wag from A to Z” \, originally curated by Ann Harithas for the Nave Museum in Victoria\, TX \, artist Mel Chin extracted images from all 25 volumes of the 1953 Funk & Wagnall’s Encyclopedia and re-edited them a collages\, unleashing the p otentiality of images trapped by historical context.  Chin� �s inspiring piece is showcased alongside new configurations of more recen t works by the artist in this exhibition.

On September 15th\, join us for a rockin' good time at the 3 rd Annual Super Cooper's Rockin' Run and Family Fun festival to benefit Su per Cooper's Little Red Wagon Foundation.  This fun filled family friendl y event includes a Family Fun Run\, 5K and Festival with:

The fun begins at 2:00PM with the Family Fun Run follo wed by the 5K.  The Family Fun Run is open to all ages and abilities to r un\, walk\, skip\, dance\, bike\, scooter or any other method of finishing the 1.56 mile course. After the Family Fun Run\, there will be a second s tart approximately 30 minutes later for the 5K.  The 5K is open to runner s or walkers of all ages.

At 2:00 the entertainment and kid’s activities will also kick off on the Southern Village Green.  There will be a giant slide\, mechanical bull and game truck not to mention live mus ic\, a live auction and lots of entertainment for all ages.  The band Ski nny Bag of Sugar will perform.  For a more detailed schedule\, please see below.

This year your ticket includes all the fun of the Fun R un/5K and Festival activities as well as a tshirt (available if tickets pu rchased prior to August 28th). Food and drinks will be available for purch ase from a range of vendors including some of the area’s best food truck s.  Each vendor  is donating a portion of proceeds to the Super Cooper's Little Red Wagon Foundation.

Funds raised from this event will be used to support the Super Cooper's Little Red Wagon Foundation mission of providing housing an d support for families affected by brain tumors.  It is the mission of th e Foundation to lift up families and strengthen them during their time fig hting this disease. The 2012 Foundation fundraising goal is $75\,000 to he lp reach our 2018 goal of $750\,000.

Are onl y runners allowed in the Family Fun Run?
No\,  the Family Fun Run is open to anyone and just about anything!  Run it\, Walk it\, Bike it\, Sc ooter it- all are welcome (even 4 legged participants).  Starts will be s taggered allowing bikes and scooters to start first.

Is there a family package?
No\, for this year we have simplified the tickets to simply be a single price per person.  The price includes admission to th e Festival\, Fun Run/5K and all the entertainment.  Tshirts are also incl uded if you purchase your ticket prior to September 1.

What’ s a family sponsorship?
A family sponsorship is available for those f amilies who want to do even more to help the Super Cooper's Little Red Wag on Foundation.  A sponsorship includes individual tickets for your family as well  as provides for an additional contribution to the Foundation.\n

The first Annual Cape Fear Wildlife Foundation’s Wild Game and Seafood Banquet will excite th e palate of outdoor enthusiast’s by the pairing of wines from around the world with seafood dishes as well as wild game dishes prepared by regiona l celebrity chefs.

The mission of the Cape Fear Wildlife Foundation is to cultivate stewardship of the great outdoors thro ugh education awareness\, programs and excursions of hunting and fishing t hat will connect men\, women and children to the importance of conservatio n so as to become investors in our natural resources to create a quality p lace to be enjoyed by future generations.

The ev ent will be held on September 15\, 2012 at the Coastline Conference and Ev ent Center (501 Nutt Street) in Wilmington\, North Carolina. Admission costs are adults $50.00 and couples $75.00. Corpo rate tables of eight (8) seats are available for $500.00. The event will include an open bar\, raffles\, live and silent auctions.
