The 3rd Annual World Autism Awareness Weekend in Wrightsville Beach, NC, features a chance for families with children impacted by autism to participate in a slew of events -- everything from face painting, kayaking, volleyball and bocce to live music, hula dancing, hands-on kids activities, and surf trainer/simulator.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Friday: Stroll the beach and play games on the oceanfront lawn at host accommodations, Blockade Runner Beach Resort. Register for Saturday's 5K and Fun Run/Walk events.

Saturday: 8:30am, 5K and Fun Run/Walk; 11am to 4pm, Surfers Healing presents Family Day in Wrightsville Beach Park. Booths will feature children’s activities like board waxing, face painting, fishing, corn toss and more. A miniature skate park is featured along with sensory and calming toys. Indo Jax Surf Charity and Lighthouse Beer and Wine will sponsor bounce houses.

Sunday: Water activities in Wrightsville Beach and skating activities in Hampstead.
