COMMUNICATE Steaming, Signaling, and Secret Codes, Oh My! A Girl Scout Program Saturday, October 15, 2011 Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm Earn a Battleship Fun Patch and experience the Battleship like you never have before! Send messages from the signal bridge using semaphore. Hoist international signal flags. Solve the mysteries of secret codes. Talk to your friends using sound-powered telephones. Blow the bosun’s pipe with the help of female Coast Guard personnel. Learn how steam propels the ship and makes electricity. Climb into a sailor’s rack, roll up clothing using stops, and plan meals aboard ship. Fee includes ship admission and a sack lunch eaten in the mess decks. Plan to arrive early or stay later to enjoy the self-guided tour. Cost is $26 for Girl Scouts and $16 for adults. Troop reservations required. Tickets are limited to a minimum of 40 and a maximum of 60 girls.
