The Jambalaya Soul Slam is a monthly individual poetry competition. Each competition consists of 12 poets. The top 3 poets earn a cash prize. The winner earns an invitation to the Grand Slam Finals in April to compete for a spot on the 2012 Bull City Slam Team (BCST). The BCST competes annually in regional and national slam competitions. In July, instead of an individual competition, the BCST competes against other NC poetry slam teams to raise money for each team. Admission $7.
