The City of Hampton and Project 1619 Inc. will sponsor the 2nd Annual African Landing Day Commemoration with a 4 day festival of events. The festival includes a Reconciliation Exposition based on the book, "My Bothers Keeper, NOT my Brothers Killer", by Pastor Jack Gaines. Come and be a part of this year's conference in what is being considered as "the blueprint to ending conflict in our times". The National Juneteenth Observance Foundation will sponsor a Jazz & Heritage Reconciliation Concert featuring its founder, Rev. Ron Myers Sr. A Multimedia Musical Cantata with orchestra and choir will present "The Triumph of Gospel - One New Man. A tour of Hampton's African-American historical places will be provided and the 3rd Annual World Day of Reconciliation & Healing from the Legacy of Enslavement Prayer Service will take place at Fort Monroe where the first Africans came ashore.
