Pianist, composer and arranger Grenoldo Frazier presents a new work, Old Souls: Southern Soliloquy plus the music of Louis Jordan. Old Souls: Southern Soliloquyis a jazz, be-bop, R&B, soft-rock mix of original music theater work, lyrics and composition by Frazier. The piece is based upon interviews with Campbell Square/Five Point/Brooklyn neighborhood residents’ spanning150 years of Wilmington history. Frazier is the composer of numerous off-Broadway hits including, Deadwood Dick or They Went That-A-Way (a cowboy melodrama), Mama, I Want To Sing (the longest running gospel musical and Time Magazine top ten list of best shows), and Home, (Burgaw native Samm-Art Williams’ musicalization of his Broadway hit of the same name).
