Mecklenburg County ABC Board is soliciting Formal Sealed Bids for ABC STORE #22 from qualified general contractors­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­ to the Mecklenburg County ABC Board c/o Jason Hughes. Bids will be received at the location listed below until the date and time listed:

Located at 323 Huntersville Gateway Blvd. Huntersville, NC 28078, the scope of work consists of a new 6,615sf building on a previously graded site.  Site work will consist of underground utility work, concrete curb cuts, some re-grading to allow for new parking, loading dock and dumpster pad along with walkways to entrance of building.  The building will be consisted of steel frame construction on concrete slab and foundation enclosed by block and brick masonry walls attached to stud walls with pvc roof. Mechanical work will include two roof top units and a heat pump with exposed duct work.  Interiors will be finished out including mechanical, plumbing and electrical.

All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope and plainly labeled on the outer most package “PROJECT:  ABC STORE #22.”  The inside and outside package shall include the Contractor’s License Number.

The public opening and reading aloud of the bids will be at 1400 hrs., on Monday, July 15th, 2019, in the Mecklenburg County ABC Board’s meeting room at 3333 North Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC 28206.

The issuing office for the Bidding Documents is:  RdM Architecture, 208 South Village Lane, Suite B, PO Box 1029, Davidson, NC 28036, 704.987.9727.  Prospective bidders may examine the bidding documents at the issuing office Mondays through Thursdays between the hours of 0800 and 1700, Fridays between the hours of 0800 and 1200 and may obtain copies of the bidding documents from the Plan Room as described below.

Bid documents may be viewed and ordered online by registering with the Plan Room at Duncan Parnell, Public Bid Room, www.dpibidroom.com starting Monday, June 10th, 2019. Please note that only Registered Plan Holders may submit a bid as a General Contractor . Following registration, complete sets of Bidding Documents may be downloaded from the Plan Room website as “zipped” portable document format (PDF) files. The cost of printed Bidding Documents will depend on the number and size of the Drawings and Project Manual, applicable taxes, and shipping method selected by the prospective Bidder. Cost of Bidding Documents and shipping is non-refundable.  Upon receipt of payment, printed Bidding Documents will be sent via the prospective Bidder’s delivery method of choice; the shipping charge will depend on the shipping method chosen. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Plan Room will be considered the Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of the Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office.

A pre-bid meeting to permit the Bidder to examine the project site, existing equipment installations and adjacent areas will be held at 1000hrs local time on June 19th, 2019, at the ‘Future’ ABC Store #22, 323 Huntersville Gateway Blvd. Huntersville, NC 28078Attendance at the pre-bid meeting by General Contractors is mandatory.  Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

E-mail clarification of the bid process to jason.hughes@meckabc.com.  Questions must be submitted by 1700 hrs, Friday, June 28th, 2019.  All clarifications, answers to questions and changes made to the RFB will be responded to by written addendum. The addendum will be posted on the Duncan Purnell website on or before 1700 hrs., Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019.

Mecklenburg County ABC Board reserves the right to reject all bids, to waive informalities and technicalities, and to cancel the Bid Process at any time.

Bidders shall submit proof of qualifications to perform the work as described in the Instructions to Bidders.

Responses to any questions will not be an official response unless formally issued through addendum.
