The Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA), is a public, non-profit agency providing water, sewer and reclaimed water services to the Carrboro-Chapel Hill community.  We are seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented Administrative Assistant to join our successful team.

This technically savvy individual should have outstanding time management skills and the proven ability to organize resources to efficiently deliver and support OWASA’s Administration and Engineering departments.  Candidates must be extremely dependable, detail oriented, creative and forward thinking.

The ideal candidate is a team player with excellent work ethic, adaptability and the desire to work in a collaborative environment.  Must have a service-oriented attitude and professional demeanor with incredible problem-solving skills.

Position provides administrative and technical support and supports the daily office operations. The role requires proficiency and accuracy in providing information, preparing agenda documents, spreadsheets, memorandums, mass mailings and other correspondence as needed.  Maintains accurate calendars for OWASA’s Board and other contact directories.  Maintains the electronic and physical filing systems to include retention, retrieval, and destruction.  Ability to handle financial transactions, reconciliations and assistance with coordinating departmental budget.  Supports the staff by preparing and coordinating meetings, trainings and special events.

Position requires excellent, above average aptitude with Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat.  Use of Microsoft SharePoint preferred.  Minimum requirements include a high school diploma with one to three years of experience in an administrative supporting role.  Valid North Carolina Class C driver’s license required.  Work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Salary range: $34,897 – $53,742.
