NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING FOR PROPOSED
ALTERNATE BIDS FOR PREFERRED PRODUCTS

Sealed proposals will be received until 2:00 PM on August 15, 2018, in the UNC Hospitals’ Plant and Engineering Department, 9th Floor Conference Room, 101 Manning Drive, Chapel Hill, NC 27514 and immediately thereafter publicly opened and read for the furnishing of labor, material and equipment for the construction of:

Adult Bone Marrow Transplant Unit HVAC Modifications

Bids will be received for single prime bid contracts from previously pre-qualified contractors.  All Proposals will be lump sum.

The following General Contractors are pre-qualified:

  1. Monteith Construction Corp.

Bid documents will be for pre-qualified bidders only at the pre-bid meeting on July 25, 2018, at 2:00 PM or by contacting the office of McKim & Creed at 919-233-8091 (Contact Mitchell A. Brown, PE).

Bid documents will be available for examination in the plan rooms of Associated General Contractors, Reed Construction Data, McGraw Hill Construction Dodge, the offices of the Designer: McKim & Creed, Venture IV Building, Suite 500, 1730 Varsity Drive, Raleigh, NC  27606; NC Institute of Minority Economic Development, Inc., 114 W. Parrish St., 5th Floor, Durham, NC; Hispanic Contractors Association of the Carolinas, Winston-Salem, Charlotte and Raleigh Areas – 877-227-1680; and the Raleigh Business and Technology Center, Suite 119, 900 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh, NC 27601.

The State reserves the unqualified right to reject any and all proposals.

The bidder must include completed minority business subcontractor documentation form(s) with their proposal or the bid may be considered non-responsive and invalid.

Pre-Bid Meeting

A public meeting will be held for all interested bidders and vendors at UNC Hospitals’ Plant and Engineering Department on July 25, 2018, at 2:00 PM in the 9th Floor Conference Room.  The meeting will address project specific questions and issues for preferred brand products.  Attendance at this pre-bid meeting is highly recommended.
