Rodgers will accept sealed bid proposals from project specific prequalified trade contractors for bid packages 04A Masonry, 06B Carpentry and Casework, 07A Roofing and Accessories, 07B Waterproofing and Sealants, 07C Fireproofing, 08A Glass Assemblies and Canopies, 08B Passage Door Assemblies, 08C Service Door Assemblies, 09A Drywall Assemblies, 09C Acoustical Assemblies, 09D Hard Tile, 09E Floor Coverings – Resilient and Carpeting, 09F Painting and Wall Coverings, 10A Specialties, 10B Signage, 12A Window Treatments, 12B Lab Furnishings, 12C Fixed Seating, 14A Elevators, 21A Fire Protection, 22A Plumbing Systems, 23A HVAC Systems, 23B Test and Balance, 26A Electrical, 32C Landscape and Irrigation until 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 13th, 2018 in Room 1106 of the Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) Zeiss Classroom Building, 1231 Elizabeth Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28204 for the construction of the Classroom Building at Charlottetowne and 5th at which time and place bids will be opened and read.
An open Pre-Bid Meeting will be held for all interested bidders on Tuesday, October 16th, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in Room 304 of the CPCC Hall Professional Development Building, 1112 Charlottetowne Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28204. CPCC Hall Professional Development Building is located at the intersection of Elizabeth and Charlottetowne Avenues. The meeting will address project specific questions, issues, bidding procedures and bid forms. A site visit will be held immediately after the formal Pre-Bid Meeting. The meeting is also to identify preferred brand alternates and their performance standards that the owner will consider for approval on this project. In accordance with General Statute GS 133-3, Specifications may list one or more preferred brands as an alternate to the base bid in limited circumstances. Specifications containing a preferred brand alternate under this section must identify the performance standards that support the preference. Performance standards for the preference must be approved in advance by the owner in an open meeting. Any alternate approved by the owner shall be approved only where (i) the preferred alternate will provide cost savings, maintain or improve the functioning of any process or system affected by the preferred item or items, or both, and (ii) a justification identifying these criteria is made available in writing to the public. In accordance with GS133-3 and SCO procedures the following preferred brand items are being considered as Alternates by the owner for this project.
- Building Automation System Controls by Trane
- Fire Alarm and Smoke Detection System by Simplex Grinnell
- Floor Boxes to be Evolution Floor Boxes by Wiremold
- Air Handling Unit Filters in AHU-1 & AHU-2 to be Dynamic Air Series “V8” Filters
The building is a new approximately 73,000 square foot, 4 story (plus mechanical penthouse) classroom and laboratory building on CPCC’s central campus. Program includes general classroom spaces and civil engineering technology, bio medical, dental, radiology, healthcare classrooms and laboratories. Site construction began in September 2018.
