Rodgers-Leeper will accept sealed bid proposals from project specific prequalified trade contractors for bid packages 04A Masonry, 06B Carpentry and Casework, 07A Roofing, Green and Paver Roofing and Accessories, 07B Waterproofing and Sealants, 07C Fireproofing, 08B Passage Door Assemblies, 08C Service Door Assemblies, 08E Glass and Metal Panel Assemblies, 09A Drywall Assemblies, 09C Acoustical Assemblies, 09D Hard Tile, 09E Floor Coverings – Resilient, Carpeting and Wood, 09F Painting and Wall Coverings, 09I Demountable Partitions, 09K Terrazzo, 10A Specialties, 10D Operable Partitions, 11F Theater Equipment, 12A Window Treatments, 12C Fixed Seating, 14A Elevators, 21A Fire Protection, 22A Plumbing Systems, 23A HVAC Systems, 23B Test and Balance, 25A Integrated Controls, 26A Electrical, 32B Site Pavers, 32C Landscape and Irrigation until 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 17th, 2019 in Room 304 of the Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) Hall Professional Development Building, 1112 Charlottetowne Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28204 for the construction of the Library and Student Success Center at which time and place bids will be opened and read.
An open Pre-Bid Meeting will be held for all interested bidders on Tuesday, August 13th, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in Room 215/216 of the CPCC Hall Professional Development Building, 1112 Charlottetowne Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28204. A site visit will be held after the Pre-Bid Meeting presentation. The meeting will address project specific questions, issues, bidding procedures and bid forms.
The meeting is also to identify preferred brand alternates and their performance standards that the owner will consider for approval on this project. In accordance with General Statute GS 133-3, Specifications may list one or more preferred brands as an alternate to the base bid in limited circumstances. Specifications containing a preferred brand alternate under this section must identify the performance standards that support the preference. Performance standards for the preference must be approved in advance by the owner in an open meeting. Any alternate approved by the owner shall be approved only where (i) the preferred alternate will provide cost savings, maintain or improve the functioning of any process or system affected by the preferred item or items, or both, and (ii) a justification identifying these criteria is made available in writing to the public. In accordance with GS133-3 and SCO procedures the following preferred brand items are being considered as Alternates by the owner for this project:
- Fire Alarm System by Simplex Branded Equipment by Johnson Controls Fire Protection
- Dynamic Air Series ‘V8″ Filters in AHUs
- Door Hardware by Allegion
- Irrigation Systems Components by Weathermatic / Rain Bird
- Fixed Audience Seating by Hussey Seating
- Floor Boxes to be Evolution Floor Boxes by Wiremold
The Library and Student Success Center is a new, approximately 188,000 square foot, 4 level combined library, student success center and theater on the college’s central campus quad. Also included is renovation of a relatively small area where the Library and Student Success Center ties into the Central High building.
