ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed Bids will be received by Greenville Utilities Commission (Owner) at the Engineering Center Conference Room, 801 Mumford Road, P.O. Box 1847, Greenville, North Carolina, 27835 until 10:00 a.m., local time, February 19, 2019 for the Regional Pump Station Improvements – Grinder Installation Project.
At said place and time, and promptly thereafter, all Bids that have been duly received will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The proposed Work is generally described as follows:
- Installation of two wall-mounted channel grinder units furnished by Owner to Contractor, at the Green Mill Run and Fork Swamp Regional Pump Stations (one at each station). Grinder equipment shall be installed inside the wetwells and includes vertically mounted drive unit, control panel, custom wall frame, guide rails, support base, wall mounting hardware, and all other appurtenances furnished under the Grinder Procurement Contract included in Appendix A of the Project Manual.
- Concrete top slab modifications at both the Green Mill Run and Fork Swamp Regional Pump Station Wetwells including demolition, new concrete, and new access hatches.
- Electrical Work and controls associated with Owner-furnished grinder equipment.
- Temporary bypass pumping.

A pre-Bid conference will be held at 2:00 PM on January 31, 2019 at the Engineering Center Conference Room, 801 Mumford Road, Greenville, North Carolina, 27835. Representatives of Owner and Engineer will be present to discuss the Project. Bidders are encouraged to attend and participate in the conference.
Neither Owner nor Engineer has any responsibility for the accuracy, completeness or sufficiency of any bid documents, including Addenda, if any, obtained from any source other than the source indicated in these documents. Obtaining these documents from any other source(s) may result in obtaining incomplete and inaccurate information. Obtaining these documents from any source other than directly from the source listed herein may also result in failure to receive any addenda, corrections, or other revisions to these documents that may be issued.
Bidders must be licensed contractors in the State of North Carolina.
Attendance at a pre-Bid conference, as specified in the Instructions to Bidders, is highly encouraged.
Bids will be received on a lump sum and unit price basis, including alternatives as described in the Contract Documents.
Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a construction performance bond and a construction payment bond as security for the faithful performance and the payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the Contract.
Contractor and all Subcontractors will be required to conform to the labor standards and employment requirements set forth in the Contract Documents.
If the Contract is to be awarded, Owner will give the Successful Bidder a Notice of Award within the number of days set forth in the Bid Form for acceptance of the Bid.
