Sealed bids for the Columbus County Sanitary Sewer Force Main Extension to Serve Old Dock Elementary School – CDBG-I Project No. 11-D-2944 including, but not limited to:

  • 1 LS Duplex Grinder Pump Station (50 GPM) to include all site, piping, and electrical work including receptacle for portable generator and manual transfer switchgear.
  • ±27,400 LF 6” diameter PVC force main.
  • ±4,500 LF 6” diameter HDPE directional bore.
  • 120 LF 12” diameter Steel Casing (Bore & Jack)
  • 1 LS connection of 6” diameter force main into existing 3” and 8” diameter force main
  • 29 Ea. Air Release Valves w/Manhole
  • 17 Ea. Pumper Connections
  • 41 Ea. 6” Plug Valves
  • 3 Ea. 4” Plug Valves
  • 1 Ea. 8” and 3” Plug Valves

will be received by the Columbus County Board of Commissioners at the Columbus County Commissioner’s Chambers located at 112 West Smith Street, Whiteville, North Carolina until 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 2, 2020, and then at said location publicly opened and read aloud.  The CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be examined at the following locations:

Copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be obtained at the office of Green Engineering, P.L.L.C. located at 303 Goldsboro Street East; P.O. Box 609; Wilson, North Carolina 27893 upon a non-refundable payment of $ 150.00 for each set.

This project is being funded in whole or in part by the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG).  All federal CDBG requirements will apply to the contract:  Bidders on this work will be required to comply with Section 109 and E.O. 11246 which prohibits discrimination in employment regarding race, creek, color, sec, or national origin.  Bidders must comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Davis Bacon Act, Anti-Kickback Act, and Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act.  Columbus County is committed to and supportive of efforts to effectively maintain and/or increase the use of Small and Minority/Women-Owned Business and Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB) contract participation for Construction Projects, services (including professional and consulting services) and commodities purchases, AND increase contract participation to offer employment, training and contracting opportunities in accordance with Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 (24 C.F.R. Part 135).

The County reserves the right to reject any and all BIDS.

BIDDERS shall be properly licensed under Chapter 87, General Statutes of North Carolina.
