Apply today, if you desire a rewarding career that includes great work / life balance and is coupled with strong state benefits including: secure retirement pension, health insurance (medical, dental, and vision), vacation leave, sick leave, paid holidays, and many more.  For more information about our offered benefits please go to our website: https://oshr.nc.gov/state-employee-resources/benefits The position is in Raleigh, NC.  This position provides the Department of Public Safety – Central Engineering with Structural Engineering, Planning, Consultation, Inspection, Design and Contract Administration services for repair and renovation projects and for new construction projects.  KSAs: Ten (10) years of Structural Engineering experience for Clients and/or Owners.  Demonstrated ability to work independently.  Computer literacy required – AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project), structural analysis/design software (such as Enercalc, RISA 2D, etc.). Demonstrated skill in reviewing the design of consultants and/or interpreting all related plans and specifications.  Demonstrated skill in estimating costs, inspecting projects during construction and/or technically directing others. Demonstrated skill in reviewing and evaluating construction work.  Demonstrated skill in preparing structural plans & specifications and/or coordinating on projects with architects and/or other engineering disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical).
