NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed bids, subject to the conditions herein, will be received until 11:00 a.m. (local time), Friday, July 20, 2018, in the conference room of the Wilmington International Airport, 1740 Airport Boulevard, Suite 12, Wilmington, North Carolina, and then opened and publicly read for furnishing all labor and materials and performing all work connected with: Terminal Improvements – Contract 1, as indicated in the plans and specifications dated June 29, 2018.
A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in the conference room of the Wilmington International Airport. Attendance at the Pre-Bid meeting is NOT mandatory, however is strongly recommended. A site visit will be available following the meeting. The project is located in the Airport Security Area; escorts are required for site visits. The project shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment and performing all work required to satisfactorily complete the project, which consists of phased installation of new outbound baggage handling system (BHS) equipment in the Airport’s passenger terminal, and phased demolition of existing BHS. The project also includes minor mechanical, electrical, structural and civil work items related primarily to the BHS installation; and provision of SIDA-badged baggage porters to assist airlines and TSA in baggage handling operations during construction.

Bidders may obtain a complete set of bidding documents beginning on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 from: McGee Cadd Reprographics, 2527 S. 17th St., Wilmington, NC 28401, (910) 392-5500, e-mail: email@example.com, upon the non-refundable payment of services charges.
Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, a deposit of cash or by a certified check payable to New Hanover County Airport Authority, and drawn on some bank or trust company authorized to do business in the State of North Carolina, for an amount equal to 5% of the total base bid, as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, the required Contract will be executed and the required Performance Bond and Payment Bond furnished within fifteen (15) days after receipt of written notice of formal award of Contract.
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO BIDDERS: Each bidder for this project shall be registered as a prequalified bidder with New Hanover County at the time of the bid opening and shall hold a North Carolina General Contractor’s License. A list of pre-qualified BHS subcontracting firms is included in the bid documents to assist prime contractors.
Prospective bidders should read the instructions for preparing bids in the project specifications carefully before submitting their bids.

SPECIAL NOTE: The New Hanover County Airport Authority, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. §§ 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
New Hanover County Airport Authority reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities, and to re-advertise this solicitation at the Authority’s sole discretion. Nothing herein shall be construed as a commitment on the part of the authority to award a contract. The authority reserves the right to reject all bids and abandon the solicitation at its sole discretion.
