ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed proposals will be received by County of Wake in the Procurement Services, Wake County Justice Center, 301 S. McDowell Street, Suite 2900, Raleigh, NC 27601 for providing labor, material and equipment entering into Single Prime Contract for the Waverly F. Akins Office Building Freight Elevator Modernization (RFP/Bid No. 20-047).
Sealed Single Prime bids will be received until 2:00 p.m. on June 23, 2020.
All bids will be publicly opened and read starting at 2:00 p.m.
The general scope is as follows:
- Removal and disposal of an existing in-ground hydraulic elevator and all related elevator equipment. The existing elevator should be removed except the elevator entrances. Once the elevator jack is removed, the hole shall be filled with sand and the jack access hole at the pit floor shall be filled with concrete and properly waterproofed.
- Furnish one (1) new C-1 Freight Elevator rated at 12,000 lbs. capacity single stage dual jack holeless hydraulic elevator with power freight doors operating at 100 fpm. Reuse the existing Machine Room and hoistway. The existing elevator entrances shall be reused and modified as described herein. If additional rail/jack supports are required it is the responsibility of the Elevator Contractor. All grouting (if required) on entrance frames, sills, cutouts for piping, conduits and fixtures are by the Elevator Contractor.
A Pre-bid Conference will be held at the Public Safety Center located at 330 S. Salisbury Street, Raleigh in Conference Room C170 at 2:00 p.m. local prevailing time, on June 9, 2020.
