Washington — With almost 10,000 books sold, Gabrielle Jordan shared her experience as the author of The Making of a Young Entrepreneur: A Kids Guide to Developing the Mind-Set for Success, which she wrote when she was 11 years old. Says Jordan, “I think it’s always important for someone my age to have direction. Being a young entrepreneur, having this book and having this focus in my life, kept me on a strong path and really helped me to grow as a person.”

Gabrielle Jordan  co-founder of the ExCEL Youth Mentoring Institute, teams up with WJLA, a Washington D.C. affiliate of ABC, to showcase a month long African American Youth Authors Series.

Starting February 1st, the series will highlight black youth authors in the Maryland, Northern Virginia and Washington DC area every Thursday in February at 8:15 AM EST, on WJLA’s popular morning news program, Good Morning Washington. The first segment, which can be viewed on wjla.com, features an interview with the #1 Amazon Bestselling author and international speaker, Gabrielle Jordan.

Now 17, the award winning entrepreneur and mentor shares what viewers can expect from the series. Jordan adds, “The young people that we’re going to be highlighting this month are amazing young writers that have this focus and have direction in their lives.”
