May 28th Virtual Town Hall on Veterans Health Care During Coronavirus with NC Senator Jeff Jackson

Jeffrey Neale Jackson (born September 12, 1982) is an American soldier, attorney, and politician from North Carolina. A Democratic member of the North Carolina Senate, he represents the 37th district, which is based in Mecklenburg County. Jackson also serves in the North Carolina National Guard. After the September 11 attacks, Jackson enlisted in the United States Army Reserve and served in Kandahar Province during the War in Afghanistan.[1] His military service continues to this day as a Captain in the JAG Corps with the Army National Guard.[2] He drills monthly with the 113th Sustainment Brigade. After graduating from law school, Jackson worked as an assistant district attorney in Gaston County and tried over one hundred cases ranging from DWI to first degree murder. He has served in the North Carolina Senate since 2014.

 

TOMORROW at 6PM – Military members and advocates gather to demand Medicaid expansion and protections for the Affordable Care Act

Raleigh, N.C. – On Thursday, May 28 at 6:00 p.m. North Carolina Senator Jeff Jackson (NC-37), a current Captain in the Army National Guard, will join Piedmont Rising for a virtual health care town hall to discuss where North Carolina stands on Medicaid expansion and how the state’s refusal to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act hurts military veterans and their families.

Town hall panelists will discuss how this pandemic affects North Carolina’s most vulnerable communities, what leaders can do to increase access to care and help struggling hospitals, and how residents can urge lawmakers in North Carolina to protect health care and move to expand Medicaid in response to the public health emergency.
