Microsoft and HBCU Connect Event For Black Tech Leaders in Washington DC

Microsoft and HBCU Connect Event For Black Tech Leaders in Washington DC

by 01/31/2017

HBCUConnect.com, in partnership with Microsoft’s Consulting Services Division, recently hosted another of many successful professional recruiting & networking mixers targeting an array of Black tech professionals in the Washington D.C. and surrounding DMV area.

With an RSVP list of 225 vetted candidates, attendees networked with fellow technology professionals and Microsoft hiring managers against the beautiful backdrop of hors d’oeuvre and cocktails, and the delightful decor of The Fillmore Silver Spring.

“Microsoft is well-known as a supporter of diversity in the workplace,” explains Will Moss, founder and CEO of HBCUConnect.com. “Their opinion is that more diversity leads to more impressive innovation and better ideas, two concepts that are especially important in the software and high-tech industries.”

Chief People Person Daniel Moss adds, “Our events are built around hand-sourced, pre-screened and vetted talent. Because of our unique sourcing approach, vast online network and reach, be it technology, finance, or other professionals, the right people are always in attendance and everyone’s expectations are met throughout the recruiting process. In fact, it’s common for on-the-spot hires to happen, as hiring managers know they’re meeting top prospects. Our events essentially seal the deal, resulting in a win-win scenario all the way around.”

This is now the seventh event that HBCU Connect has executed specifically with Microsoft and others are in the works. The most recent prior event, held in Reston, Va, in partnership with Microsoft’s Sales Business Division, attracted diverse business development professionals in the area, and resulted in several quick hires for Microsoft’s hiring managers in attendance.

For organizations interested in discussing the execution of a similar event, and/or leveraging the HBCU and other professional African American networks in support of your hiring strategies, please contact Daniel Moss at [email protected] or call 614-416-5517.
