North Carolina NAACP to Host “Make Good Trouble” Day of Action on the First Day of Early Voting 

GREENSBORO, NC — Recently, the North Carolina NAACP announced the list of branches to hold “Make Good Trouble” Day of Action marches around the state.  Greensboro, High Point, Salisbury/Rowan, Moore County, Chapel Hill-Carrboro branches will all kick-off early voting with a powerful and socially distanced march.  Speakers are expected to mobilize voters ahead of the November elections.

“The day of action will be one band, one sound across the state of North Carolina, encouraging people to get out and vote early.  We get one shot at election cycle 2020 and we are doing everything in our power to make sure all eligible voters have  access to the polls, safely” said NC NAACP President,  Rev. Dr. T. Anthony Spearman. “Our day of action is about educating and mobilizing the unleashed power of Good Trouble.”

Dr. Barbara Arnwine, Founder and President of Transformative Justice Coalition has successfully been facilitating these days of action all around the country and will be in Greensboro for the Guilford County event, “I’m so excited that the NC NAACP will be taking part in a movement that has proven successful in other parts of the county.” says Dr. Barbara Arnwine.

Masks are mandatory and social distancing will be strictly enforced.

The Day of Action in-person events are as follows:

• High Point: Thursday, October 15, 7:30 AM: Start in front of Power and Praise Tabernacle, 139 Kimery Dive, High Point and end at Washington Terrace Voting Polls
• Greensboro: Thursday, October 15, 11:30 AM: Start in front New Light Baptist Church, 1105 Willow Road Greensboro and end at Barber Park, 1500 Dans Road
