Team Hickman Enterprises Presents The Port City Rip the Runway 2015

by 12/15/2014

The Port City Rip the Runway will take place at 6pm on Saturday January 10, 2015 for the fourth year in Wilmington, NC. In addition to the annual fashion show, Team Hickman Enterprises has launched a crowdfunding campaign on GoFundMe to raise funds for the Lillie Ann Heggins Scholarship Fund and

present scholarship money to two local students. The annual fashion show occurs during the “Bigg B’s Celebrity Birthday Weekend” and features local DJs, stylists, designers, and clothing stores from Wilmington and the surrounding areas. Brandon “Bigg B” Hickman is the Program Director for Cumulus Broadcasting, Coast 97.3 FM

in Wilmington, NC, 98.5 Kiss FM-Myrtle Beach, SC. In the past they have presented a scholarship each year to

one student, but through the foundation and crowdfunding campaign they would like to increase their effort

and present two scholarships this year.

The purpose of the annual fashion show and crowdfunding campaign is to raise funds for the Lillie Ann Heggins Scholarship Fund and present scholarship money to local students in the Wilmington community. The Foundation was created in honor of Brandon Hickman’s dear Mother, Lillie Ann Heggins. Lillie Ann Heggins was a North Carolina educator for over 40 years between Jacksonville and Wilmington, NC. She was very passionate

about educating and exposing the youth to endless possibilities. Her passion has been passed on and carried out through her children. Nothing was more important to Lillie Ann Heggins than her family and educating the youth. She believed that every student should have an opportunity to go to college and further their education.

This event will help keep her mission alive and provide scholarship money to offset the cost of attending college and raise funds to assist a worthy student to attend the college or university of their choice. You can support the Lillie Ann Heggins Scholarship Fund by visiting their GoFundMe campaign and become a donor at http://www.gofundme.com/lillieannheggins. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for Rip the Runway.

Team Hickman Enterprises was created by, “Team Hickman” also known as Brandon and his wife, Suprena

Hickman. They use their talents to positively impact their community and others around them by “edu-taining” youth, consulting professionals, and planning “outside-the-box” events.

A huge part of their lives were interrupted nearly four years ago with the sudden death of Brandon’s mother, Lillie Ann Heggins.

The Port City Rip the Runway 2015 will be their fourth annual event and continues to grow with each passing year. The first year, there were over 400 people in attendance, which grew to over 500 the second year; and last year, the event maxed out at nearly 700 attendees- not including the many models, hair stylists, make-up artists, clothing designers, and volunteers. Attendees ranged from teenagers to elderly and were enjoyed by everyone! As Team Hickman Enterprises continues to grow, they would love to be able to assist more students financially and this can happen with the help and assistance from people and businesses in the community.
