CCU Presents Mother-Daughter Leadership Workshops
by Kathy Grear 10/08/2012“Lead Her: Consciously. Courageously. Uniquely,” a day of workshops for girls and women, will be presented by Coastal Carolina University’s Women in Philanthropy and Leadership on Saturday, Nov. 3, at Wheelwright Auditorium from 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Workshops and presentations will encourage meaningful conversations designed to build strong and resilient girls. Topics include improving positive body image, health and wellness, building healthy relationships and enhancing parent-daughter relationships.
Featured speakers include Kristin Bohan, Ph.D., clinical psychologist and executive director of myTERMS, and Julie Marie Carrier, award-winning national speaker, author and success coach for MTV’s hit show “MADE, a self-improvement reality television series that follows teens who are seeking life-changing opportunities.
The program includes a continental breakfast and box lunch.
MyTERMS is a nonprofit organization that stands for “my Time, my Energy, my Rights, my Mission, my Self.” Its intent is to raise community awareness and offer direct services to pre-adolescent and adolescent girls. The workshop is presented in partnership with myTERMS.
An encore event continues into the evening from 4:45 until 6:30 p.m. with pizza and the showing of a featured movie.
