The concert will present the history of the music of HBCUs on The Kennedy Center Concert Hall stage.

This electrifying event will showcase some of the most talented singers from the HBCUs presenting an American legacy grounded in African-American culture. To complement the choir performances, there will be stunning featured solos.

“We are especially excited that the Colleges and Universities selected the student voice from their University to celebrate the joy of singing in support of social concerns,” says Renata Toni Roy, Founder of Partners Achieving Success — 105 Voices of History. “Our goal is to increase diversity and inclusion, thereby creating opportunities, resources and partnerships that ensure national recognition and support of HBCU legacies. Strategic partnerships will support the long-standing tradition for present and future generations of America’s young students of color. The performance will be comprised of various music genres led by four nationally recognized HBCU conductors and 105 newly selected talented voices representing HBCUs throughout the country.”

The concert will be preceded by a National Health Walk on Saturday, September 18, 2010 from the Nation’s Capital to the Lincoln Memorial with the participation on Alumni, Organizations and Ministries. The walk will close with the 105 Voices in song at the Lincoln Memorial and scholarship presentations. “Walk for “105 Ways to Healthy HBCUs, Scholars and Campuses”
