Fathers Incorporated Hosting Daddy Diaper Drive in Partnership With Huggies Drive to Benefit Low-Income Fathers in Atlanta

by 06/03/2016

Atlanta – Fathers Incorporated has launched its Daddy Diaper Drive in partnership with Huggies for Atlanta fathers. The drive’s focus is to serve low-income fathers 25 years of age and younger. The drive kicked off at Fathers Incorporated’s National Fatherhood Conference Annual Dinner held at Turner Field in April and will continue until June 10th. The diapers will be distributed at a special Father’s Day event in College Park on Saturday, June 18.

The overall goal of the drive is to elevate the message that a father’s engagement and contribution to the well-being of his children extends beyond his paycheck. Therefore, offering assistance with free diapers, we can play a role in building the self-esteem of young fathers.

Huggies and the “Every Little Bottom” campaign have already donated 10,000 diapers and wipes to jumpstart the Daddy Diaper Drive.

Fathers Incorporated has also designated barbershops and other businesses in the Atlanta metro-area as “drop-off” locations for the Daddy Diaper Drive. Each location has committed to informing, educating and collecting donations for the drive.

“It is a pleasure to serve the community in this way for Fathers Day. We understand clearly that helping fathers will also serve to benefit both mothers and children,” says Gino Teyf, owner of Gino Classic Barbers in Sandy Springs. Locally Fathers Incorporated has also partnered with Helping Mamas and Love Beyond Walls to help in our distribution.

“Atlanta is home to many fathers and I believe as we get ready for Father’s Day we must do something special for our community. Not only because it’s a holiday but also because dads are in need just as well as moms and that at the end of the day, we are helping children. I am grateful for the partnership we have developed with Huggies and the donation they have given us to jumpstart this campaign. I look forward to blessing many fathers with diapers and wipes on June 18,” stated Fatherhood expert and Executive Director of Fathers Incorporated, Kenneth Braswell.

He adds, “If you have a father you believe needs assistance, tell us about him on our website.”
