PREQUALIFICATION OF GENERAL CONTRACTORS

MCLEANSVILLE REGIONAL READINESS CENTER

In accordance with NCGS 143-135.8(b)(2), the North Carolina National Guard intends to prequalify interested General Contractors for the construction of the McLeansville Regional Readiness Center.

The existing site has been cleared and the building pad graded to subgrade as part of a separate project.  The building consists of offices, classrooms, assembly hall, kitchen, fitness area, unit storage, and equipment rooms.  The two-story portion contains the office suites on either side of a lobby.  The assembly space is a high bay space with clerestory windows.  On either side of the assembly hall are storage and support spaces.  The west side houses the kitchen, large equipment room, fitness room, and shower facilities.  The east side houses supply/storage areas, small equipment room, and building maintenance.  Building features include a VRF HVAC system, LED lighting, closed cell foam insulation, and translucent panels.  The building is comprised of loadbearing masonry walls with steel framing at large openings.  The exterior consists of face brick, architectural CMU veneer, and metal panel cladding.  The roof is constructed of single-ply TPO membrane over a 5/8” coverboard, over polyiso insulation on the low slope areas and standing seam metal panel over an ice and water shield underlayment, over polyiso insulation on the sloped areas.   Exterior glazing will be aluminum storefront and aluminum curtainwall.  The frames shall be thermally broken, with 1” insulated glazing.  The interior walls will be 8” CMU.  Walls inside the office suites will be metal stud with gypsum wall board.  Ceiling finishes consist of exposed painted and acoustical lay-in ceilings.  Floor finishes consist of epoxy terrazzo flooring, resinous flooring, ceramic tile flooring, carpet / rubber base, and sealed concrete.  The proposed facility will be on a pre-graded site located at:  4250 Camp Burton Rd., McLeansville, NC 27301.

An Informational Meeting will be held, ONSITE, at 1:30 pm, August 25, 2022, to provide general information about the project and to answer questions related to the project and prequalification process.

Electronic (preferred) or a Hard copy of the Applications are due to Smith Sinnett Architecture, [email protected] , 4600 Lake Boone Trail, Suite 205, by 5:00 pm, September 9, 2022.  No application forms will be accepted after this time.

Only General Contractors that have been prequalified by the North Carolina National Guard will be able to submit a bid package for the construction of the stated facility.  The North Carolina National Guard reserves the right to reject any and all applications; to waive all technicalities and irregularities; and to request additional information from an applicant.
