Fire Station 1 and Park Project in Downtown Hendersonville

The City of Hendersonville, North Carolina (City) is requesting written qualifications from professional construction firms interested in providing construction manager at risk services for a fire station 1 and park project in downtown Hendersonville. Firms responding to this request for qualifications (RFQ) may partner with other firms or subcontractors as a team; however, qualification information must be provided for all construction management firms and subcontractors.

The proposed project is an approximately 18,200 square foot facility to be constructed on an existing 1.67 lot located at 851 N. Main Street in Hendersonville, NC.  The location for park amenities to be relocated is to be determined, within a 3-mile radius of the existing park facilities. The total estimated project budget for design, site demolition, surveying and geotechnical services, permitting, materials, construction, and close-out is $8,500,000.

Submissions must be sent in PDF format and emailed to [email protected] by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time (EST) on May 7, 2021. Questions regarding this request should be directed to Adam Murr and will be accepted until 5:00 pm local time on April 23, 2021. responses to questions will be posted by 5:00 pm local time on April 30, 2021. The City reserves the right to call for interviews with submitting firms following an initial review of the SOQs submitted.

PDF files must contain the signatures of company representatives who are authorized to execute documents on behalf of the firm. The total length of the qualification statement, excluding cover letter or appendices, shall be no more than thirty (30) pages. Qualification statements received after the deadline will not be considered. The City reserves the right to reject any and all proposals received and to waive minor informalities. Incomplete proposal responses will not be considered. The selected firm(s) will be expected to enter into an agreement with the City as soon as possible following notification.
