Sealed Bids for construction of the NASH COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY ADDITION in Nashville, North Carolina from pre-qualified contractors will be received at the offices of Nash County Public Utilities and Facilities Department, Attn: Jonathan Boone, PE, 120 W. Washington Street, Nashville, NC 27856 (UPS & FedEx and hand delivery); until 2:00 p.m., local prevailing time, July 29, 2021, and then publicly opened and read immediately thereafter.

Bids received after the announced time and date for submittal, whether by mail or otherwise, will be rejected.  Bidders are responsible for ensuring their Bid is received before the deadline indicated.  Bids submitted by telephone, email, text message, or facsimile shall not be accepted.

The Project generally consists of a one-story addition to the existing facility which is approximately 16,950 s.f. in size.  Construction includes a pre-engineered metal building frame system; masonry construction; slab on grade; standing-seam metal roofing system; manufactured steel detention cells; electric traction machine-room-less elevator; new gas-fired packaged rooftop HVAC system; wet-sprinkler fire protection system; Video Surveillance System; and Door Access Control System.   The project also consists of an interior renovation to the existing facility which is approximately 40,100 s.f. in size, with approximately 12,125 s.f. of area to be renovated.  Construction is anticipated to begin by September 2021.

Responses to any questions/ clarification will be in the form of addenda if required.  The last day for questions/ clarifications shall be placed by the end of the day at 5:00 p.m. on July 21, 2021.

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 2:00 p.m., on July 15, 2021, at Location: 120 W. Washington Street, Nashville, NC; Commissioner’s Meeting Room, Administration Building, Third Floor.  Submit questions in writing, at this time on the required “Pre-Bid Question Form.”  The “Pre-Bid Question Form” may be accessed within the Project Manual, or you may submit online via .  Responses will be in the form of addenda if required.

Beginning on June 28, 2021, all Bidders may obtain, and/or examine electronic Bidding Documents by visiting .
