NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed proposals will be received by the County of Wake in the Purchasing Department, Suite 2900, Wake County Justice Center, 301 McDowell Street, Raleigh, NC 27601, up to 3:00 p.m. November 29, 2018, and immediately thereafter publicly opened and read for providing labor, material and equipment entering into the construction of Wendell Falls Public Safety Building, located at 6021 Taylor Road, Wendell, NC 27591.
Complete plans and specifications for this project can be obtained from ADW Architects Sharefile Site, please call (704) 379-1919 during normal business hours starting November 5th, 2018 to obtain the ADW Sharefile Site link, or hard copies of the Plans and Project Manual can also be obtained by submitting a Plan Deposit: Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) in cash or certified check written out to ADW Architects. Additional sets of plans and specifications shall be available for a NON-refundable fee of $250.00 per set. Checks for any extra sets should be made out to ADW Architects.
Complete contract documents will be also be available at the North Carolina Institute of Minority Economic Development (NCIMED), Durham; Hispanic Contractors Association of The Carolinas, Raleigh office, North Carolina; local NC offices of Bid Clerk in Cary, NC 27518; in the Eastern Regional Office of Construction Market Data (CMD) in Norcross, GA 30092; ISqft in Cincinnati, OH 45209; Dodge Plan Room; Blue Book Plan Room, and Specten Plan Room.
Each Proposal shall be accompanied by a cash deposit, or a certified check drawn on some bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, or a Bid Bond in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the Proposal. Said deposit to be retained by the Owner (referred to as Obligee on the Bond Form) asliquidated damages in event of failure of the successful Bidder to execute the Contract within ten (10) days after the award or to give satisfactory Surety as required by law.
The Bid Bond shall be conditioned that the surety will, upon demand, forthwith make payment to the Owner (referred to as Obligee on the Bond Form) upon the said bond if the Bidder fails to execute the contract.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the Wake County Public Safety Center Conference Room C170, 330 S. Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC 27601 on Tuesday November 13th at 1:30 pm.
The plan deposit will be returned to Contractors submitting bids provided all documents are returned in good condition within ten (10) days after the bid date. The plan deposit will be returned to Contractors not submitting bids provided all documents are returned in good condition at least five (5) days prior to the bid date.
Wake County provides minorities and women equal opportunity to participate in all aspects of its construction program consistent with NCGS §143-8. Bidders shall comply with the requirements of the Wake County Minority Business Enterprise Program, as outlined in Section 00 50 00 of the Project Manual.
No bid may be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for bids.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
