NHRMC Smartphone App to Help Patient and Visitors with Wayfinding and More

by 09/25/2019

WILMINGTON, NC – New Hanover Regional Medical Center has a new free smartphone app designed to make it easier for patients, families and visitors to navigate the healthcare system.

A key feature of the app allows visitors to NHRMC’s 17th Street campus to get real-time, turn-by-turn directions, helping them navigate the halls. Users are able to locate points of interest, including dining options, gift shops and the chapel, and other popular destinations, such as admitting, patient discharge and the outpatient pharmacy.

By tapping on a point of interest, the app will direct users from their current location to their destination. The app will reroute you if you get off course.

Aside from the internal navigation, the app also features turn-by-turn driving directions to get to any NHRMC facility in the region.

“This tool is designed to make it easier for our patients to access care,” said John Gizdic, President and CEO. “We also want to ensure we do everything we can to make our campus welcoming for patients and families while they are here for treatment.”

Other features include:

  • Find the closest emergency department or urgent care location
  • Access NHRMC MyChart
  • Find a doctor
  • Access health and wellness resources, classes and events

You can download the NHRMC app for free in the Apple Store or Google Play Store or you can text “Get App” to 910-218-9641. The app content is available in English and Spanish, depending on the phone setting.
