VOTING RIGHTS: Protect Our Vote NC Virtual Day of Action Today – May 27 from 2:00 – 6:00pm

In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, we’ve seen far too many voters forced to choose between participating in our democracy and protecting their health.
Please join us for the #ProtectOurVoteNC Virtual Day of Action this afternoon.
Today, as the N.C. General Assembly meets, we’ll unite behind the cause of protecting voters and demand lawmakers pass comprehensive legislation that supports fair and safe elections in 2020.
Experts say record numbers of North Carolina voters will try to take advantage of mail-in voting this year. Still more North Carolinians will use in-person voting and need sanitary, safe voting options that allow for social distancing. Financial assistance and changes to current rules are needed for state and local election officials to begin the hard work of planning for both.
But to get these reforms implemented in time for the upcoming election, our lawmakers must immediately pass legislation that provides for safe in-person voting, expands access to voting-by-mail, and provides a financial match to release critical, federal election funds to our counties.
Register for Day of Action events and join concerned North Carolinians throughout the state to urge the legislature to take urgent action and pass the reforms we need right now.
