Last week, a group of protestors led by NAACP President Cornell William Brooks were arrested for holding a sit-in inside Senator Sessions’ office.
It was a peaceful protest of his nomination for Attorney General of the Trump Administration. They were arrested for their actions.
They refused to sit by silently. Senator Sessions represents an archaic and dystopian view of American Civil Rights that have no place in our society. And they took action.
Senator Sessions has refused to acknowledge the reality of voter suppression. He’s used his power to actively suppress the vote of African Americans in Alabama and across the country.
Senator Sessions and his ultra-conservative ideologies are not the progressive future we want for our country.
Bottom line: Mr. Sessions needs to be stopped — he cannot be allowed to become our nation’s top lawmaker.
