Testing Residential and Commercial Backflow Prevention Assemblies
REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

TESTING RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL
BACKFLOW PREVENTION ASSEMBLIES
Brunswick County is soliciting sealed proposals for the testing of residential and commercial backflow prevention assemblies countywide. Interested contractors must be Certified North Carolina Rural Water Association (NCRWA) backflow testers. (Please note that Cross-Connection/ORC Certification will not satisfy this requirement).
Brunswick County has approximately 14,000 customers that have testable backflow prevention assemblies. Brunswick County notifies all customers that they are required to have their backflow assemblies tested once every other year as per the County Cross-Connection Program. Although each customer may employ a certified backflow assembly tester of their own, Brunswick County offers this service which will be performed by the selected contractor. It is anticipated, but not guaranteed, that approximately 7,000 backflow prevention assembly tests will need to be performed annually by the selected contractor. The number of tests is expected to vary from approximately 584 per month. The foregoing quantities are estimates only for bidding purposes. Brunswick County shall utilize the selected contractor’s services on an as-needed basis only. There shall be no minimum or maximum number of tests guaranteed during the term of any awarded contract.
Request for Qualifications must be submitted to the County by close of business
(3:00 p.m. ET) on September 5, 2024.
