“Interior Renovations for Edgecombe County EMS Station 500”

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed proposals from approved Pre-qualified General Contractors (only) will be received until 2:00 pm by Edgecombe County on September 16, 2025, in Room 260, located in the Edgecombe County Administration Building located at 201 St. Andrew Street, Tarboro, N.C. 27886 for the construction of the “Interior Renovations for Edgecombe County EMS Station 500” at which time and place bids will be opened and read.

An open Pre-Bid Meeting will be held on August 25, 2025, at 9:00 am at the project site, located at 3000 Meadowbrook Road, Rocky Mount, N.C. 27801.  This meeting will address project-specific issue, questions, bidding procedures, and bid forms.

This meeting is also to identify preferred brand alternates and their performance standards that the Owner will consider for this approval on this project.  In accordance with General Statute GS 133-3, specifications may list one or more preferred brand(s) as an alternate to the base bid in limited circumstances.  Specifications containing a preferred brand alternate under this section must identify the performance standards that support the preference. Performance standards for the preference must be approved in advance by the Owner in an open meeting. Any alternate approved by the Owner shall be approved only where (a) the preferred alternate will provide cost savings, maintain, or improve the functioning of any process or system affected by the preferred item or items, or both, and (b) a justification identifying these criteria is made available in writing to the public.

In accordance with GS133-3, the following preferred brand items are being considered as Alternates for this project:

ALT PB- 1 Door Hardware – Hardware C Keyway: Schlage

Complete plans and specifications for this project are available free of charge for digital download, or for a $500.00 (refundable) plan deposit made by cash or certified check for hard copies.  Either format can be obtained from Oakley Collier Architects, PA at 109 Candlewood Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 during normal office hours after August 18, 2025.

The Owner reserves the unqualified right to reject any and all proposals.
