Former Special Ed Student Turned Award-Winning Speaker Launches New Curriculum For Urban Schools

by 07/03/2023

Brad Butler II, a former Special Ed student who went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Counseling, is now a multi-award-winning speaker, author, and student retention specialist. He is on a mission to help Black and brown students around the country shift to an empowered mindset that supports their success with his signature message “Hope is my Superpower”.

According to Research.com, 75% of U.S. high-school students expressed boredom, anger, sadness, fear, or stress while in school. In addition, 58% of university students admit to being worried about their mental well-being. Research has revealed that students who are hopeful are found to have higher self-esteem and social skills, are more likely to set and achieve goals, and can more easily bounce back from adversity.

Through keynote presentations, workshops, books, and curriculums over the past 10 years, Brad has helped thousands to realize that belief is the determining factor to any level of success they want to have.

“I help students connect their dreams to their education, and educators connect with the hearts and minds of their students,” he adds. Brad holds a competitive advantage as a speaker in the educational industry, having been a student in special education classes who struggled academically, yet learned how to succeed as a college student.

He has since reverse-engineered his own success path to help students around the country, by speaking at schools and colleges. With a master’s degree in counseling, Brad uses effective communication and components of SEL in presentations to help increase EQ and AQ levels.
