It’s A Family Affair: Part 3 – ADDI Appeals to Pan-African Students – A GDN Exclusive

by 02/06/2023

On Saturday, January 14, Black Leaders met in the ADDI Pan-African Marketplace to do business deals with Pan-African businesses. Over 330 members of the African Diaspora Development Institute (ADDI), the meeting convener, discussed the development of Pan-African business relationships. However, the more significant objective of the gathering was the continuing development of strategies to free Africa, the Motherland, from the centuries-old exploitations by the West, as exemplified by the colonization of Africa, designed by the Berlin Conference of 1884-85, and the worldwide enslavement of Africans that started centuries before.

There are several facts stressed by ADDI that underpin this initiative. The lead fact is that Africa is the home of at least 30% of the world’s natural resources and that they are being exported to enrich the West and leave Africa forever impoverished. Therefore, one of the objectives of ADDI is to create trade deals with African countries and Africans in the diaspora that are being called home. The intent is for Africans of the diaspora to have the right of first refusal to any deal within their company’s capacity.

“Due to slavery and colonization, Africa and her children on the Continent and abroad are a wounded people and we need healing. ADDI was formed to heal these wounds by reconnecting all people of African Descent with our roots in Africa, The Motherland. We plan to open ADDI offices in all African countries in order to give the African governments easy access to the African Diaspora. Through our extensive database, our hope is that the African governments will gift the African diaspora businesses in collaboration with the businesses on the continent, first right of refusal of all developmental contracts in Africa, national and continental projects.” Dr. Arikana

Recognizing the challenge’s enormity, ADDI calls on Pan-African students to support economic liberation and the industrialization of Africa. This alliance between Africa and Africans in the diaspora is not new. The di-vestment of businesses in South Africa and the freeing of Nelson Mandela are notable examples of past activism.

Greater Diversity News (GDN) is participating in this initiative and doing student outreach and media coverage. In Part 2 of this series, GDN urged all Black families to sign up for free membership with ADDI and donate to support its efforts.   Today, GDN is urging the NAACP (Youth & College Division) YCD to initiate a drive promoting NAACP recognition of Former African Union Ambassador Dr. Arikana Chihombori Quao with one of its prestigious awards for her tireless and self-less efforts to unite Black people worldwide to pursue the economic liberation of Africa.

GDN also requests readers to subscribe to its free eNews edition and make donations to support its efforts. www.greaterdiversity.com  In addition, it will be convening meetings to help garner student and family support. GDN is presently engaged in an attempt to establish and grow a North Carolina chapter of ADDI and is holding training sessions promoting ADDI. Hopefully. Black leadership will investigate and support ADDI and its activities.
