For Sale of City Property Which Must Be Moved to a Location Within The City of Sanford

FOR SALE OF CITY PROPERTY
WHICH MUST BE MOVED TO A LOCATION
WITHIN THE CITY OF SANFORD 

The Sanford City Council has authorized the sale by sealed bid of the following property:

House only located at 115 North First Street, Sanford, NC 27330.

The City will accept sealed bids for the property until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the office of Fedd Walker, Public Works Director, 225 E. Weatherspoon Street, Sanford, NC. The bids will be opened at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at City Hall Council Chambers 225 E. Weatherspoon Street, Sanford, NC 27330.  All bids received shall be opened in public, and the amount of each bid announced and recorded. The record of bids shall be reported to the Sanford City Council at their regular City Council workshop meeting on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

The Sanford City Council will determine the highest responsible bidder for the property and will award the bid at its regular Sanford City Council meeting on September 16, 2025. Bids will remain open and subject to acceptance for 91 days (December 2, 2025) from bid opening date.

Each bid must be accompanied by a bid deposit of five percent (5%) of the bid amount. A bid deposit may take the form of cash, a cashier’s check, a certified check, or a surety bond. The deposit of the bidder to whom the award is made will be held until the sale of the property is closed; if that bidder refuses at any time to close the sale, the deposit will be forfeited to the City. The deposits of other bidders will be returned at the time the City Council awards the property to the highest responsible bidder.  For a bid to be considered, the bidder must be current on all property taxes owed to the city. The City reserves the right to remove the property from sale at any time and to reject any or all bids.

The house must be severed from the land and moved at the purchaser’s expense to a location within the City of Sanford.
