Layout Design Technician (Part-Time)

LAYOUT DESIGN TECHNICIAN
(PART-TIME)

Greater Diversity News a 37-year-old company that publishes weekly online and monthly editions, is looking for an independent contractor to perform newspaper layout and design duties (Part-Time) in our print production department.

DUTIES:
• Layout & design of classified pages.  Must be available on Monday and Tuesday evenings
• Tracking/kerning text
• Generating PDF documents for review
• Making corrections to ads placed in the classified section
• Assisting Sr. Graphic Designer as needed

REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have intermediate skills using Adobe InDesign.
• Excellent communication and organization skills to receive and reply to interoffice emails
• Must have the ability to meet established deadline schedules
• This is a remote position. You must have access to a computer with InDesign software, Adobe Acrobat, and a solid internet connection.
• Must be able to work from home and require minimum supervision
• Evening freelance work hours are on Mondays – Wednesdays from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM and Wednesdays from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM (Work hours depending on the number of ads per week)

Pay Per Hour:
$20.00 per hour for 14 hour work-week ($280.00).  This is evening work that starts at 6:30 – 9:30 PM Mondays – Tuesdays and 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Wednesdays.
