NCDOT (Division 6) Office Renovations

NOTICE TO BIDDERS

Pursuant to NCGS 143-131, sealed proposals will be received by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), in the Division 6 Office Building located at 558 Gillespie Street, Fayetteville, North Carolina, 28301 until 3:00 p.m., Thursday, December 12, 2024, for the project entitled “NCDOT (Division 6) Office Renovations”.  Any Proposal received subsequent to that time will be promptly returned to the Bidder unopened.  A mandatory pre-bid conference, for general contractors submitting bids, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the NCDOT Division 6 Office (project site) located at 558 and 600 Gillespie Street Fayetteville, North Carolina 28301.

Plans and specifications, including Contract Documents, are open to public inspection in the NCDOT Division 6 Office Building; and Gordon Johnson Architecture, 654 Hay Street, Suite 4, Fayetteville, North Carolina; and on-line at www.gordonjohnsonarchitecture.com (click on the “Bid Sets & Addenda” tab on the home page) or https://connect.ncdot.gov/letting/Pages/Letting-List.aspx?let_type=6&let_status=Advertised .

Each Proposal shall be accompanied by cash, cashier’s check, or certified check drawn on a bank insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or Savings Association Insurance Fund.  Checks shall be made payable to the North Carolina Department of Transportation in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid as a guarantee that a Contract, if awarded, will be entered into.  In lieu thereof, a Bid Bond which conforms to the provisions of G.S. 143-129 as amended by Chapter 1104 of the Public Laws of 1951, may be submitted by the Bidder.

The successful bidder shall be required to submit a separate Performance Bond and Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract amount guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract and payment to all persons supplying labor and/or materials for the construction of the project.

NCDOT has an established goal of 10% for Small Disadvantaged Business participation in construction and repair projects.  Bidders are hereby notified that the requirements outlined in the NC General Statutes 143-128 Minority Business Enterprise Program for Construction, Procurement and Professional Services shall be adhered to in the submission of all bids and shall be made a part of the contract.

NCDOT reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals.
