PREQUALIFICATION ADVERTISEMENT

Blum Construction has been selected as the Construction Manager at Risk by Transylvania County Schools and is seeking to pre-qualify construction trade contractors to submit bids for furnishing labor, materials, equipment and tools for Phase 1 of the Transylvania County Schools Renovation project.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Phase 1 to include the re-roofing of existing school buildings, including removal of existing roof membrane, insulation, blocking, flashings, sealants, and other roof accessories, and replacement with new blocking, flashings, boots, fully adhered tapered roof insulation, and new roofing membrane with complete warranty. Work will occur across several campuses in Transylvania County, and will be considered summer work, requiring a finish date prior to the start of the new school year in 2026. Additional roofing project areas may be added at a later date. Each campus may be awarded separately.

There is an established 10% MWBE participation goal on this project. Historically underutilized and minority business participation is strongly encouraged. Examples of Trade Partner Support include quick pay arrangements, modified insurance limits, bonding access or alternative bonding solutions, joint check agreements, prequalification assistance, disaggregation of bid packages, alternate options for financial statements prequalification requirements, break out of materials and equipment to support cash flow.
