Wake County Detention Center CRAC Unit Replacement, located in Raleigh, NC

NOTICE TO BIDDERS 

Sealed proposals will be received by Wake County Procurement Services, in Suite 2900, Wake County Justice Center, 301 McDowell Street, Raleigh, NC 27601, up to 2:00 pm, September 17, 2024, and immediately thereafter publicly opened and read for providing labor, material, and equipment entering into the construction of Wake County Detention Center CRAC Unit Replacement, located in Raleigh, NC.  An electronic copy of the contract documents (PDF) may be obtained from the Engineer by sending an email request to Allison Jurgens at [email protected] .  Complete contract documents will also be open for inspection in the offices of the Engineer.

Wake County provides minorities and women equal opportunity to participate in all aspects of its construction program consistent with NCGS §143-8.  Bidders shall comply with the requirements of the Wake County Minority Business Enterprise Program, as outlined in the MBE Resolution/Policy Section of the Project Manual.

Wake County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities.  The scope of work consists of, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Replacement of six (6) CRAC units in various spaces (all existing are above ceiling).
  • Removal of a three (3) evaporator unit VRF system and replacing it with three (3) separate split
  • Replacement of existing refrigerant piping to the exterior condensing
  • Addition of supply ductwork as shown on the
  • Replacement of all controls for the CRAC
  • Electrical power modifications to support replacement of the
  • Bid alternates:
  • HVAC Alternate #1 – Preferred vendor Liebert
  • HVAC Alternate #2 – Parking elevator lobby split systems
  • $5,000 allowance for
  • $18,000 allowance for refrigeration piping repair and/or
  • $5000 allowance for fire proofing
  • All work shall be performed normal working

A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 1:30 pm, local prevailing time on September 11, 2024, in Main Lobby of the Wake County Detention Center, 3301 Hammond Rd, Raleigh NC.  This is the second bid of the project.  Contractors who attended the first Pre-Bid Conference on August 16, 2024, are not required to attend.
