up to 2:00 pm on June 2nd, 2026, and immediately thereafter publicly opened and read at the UNC Chapel Hill, Giles F. Horney Building, Magnolia Conference Room on the 1st floor, for the furnishing of labor, material and equipment entering into the construction of:

UNC Chapel Hill – Tate Turner Kuralt – Fire Alarm Replacement.

 Demolish the existing fire alarm panels, devices, and cabling and replace with new fire alarm panels, devices and cabling, etc. for a complete and operational fire alarm system for this building, as noted on the plans and specifications.

Bids will be received for a Single Prime contract. There is not bid bond or payment & performance bond required, but there are $250/day in Liquidated Damages.

Pre-Bid Meeting:
An open pre-bid meeting will be held for all interested bidders at 1:00 pm on May 4th, 2026, at the UNC Chapel Hill, Tate Turner Kuralt Building, SSW Room 137 Classroom. While the pre-bid meeting is not mandatory, it is highly encouraged. The meeting will address project specific questions, issues, bidding procedures, bid forms and walk the building. Note that there is no parking at this building and folks will need to park at a nearby parking deck (such as Dogwood) and walk to the building.

NOTE:
The bidder shall include with the bid proposal the Identification of Minority Business Participation form identifying the minority business participation it will use on the project along with Affidavit A – Listing of Good Faith Efforts. Forms and instructions are included within the Proposal Form in the bid documents. Failure to complete these forms is grounds for rejection of the bid. (GS143-128.2c Effective 1/1/2002.)

All contractors are hereby notified that they must have a proper NC General Contractor’s license (intermediate or unlimited) as required under the state laws governing their respective trades.
