FSU and GreaterDiversity.com are Building Bridges to Financial Success for Minorities
Recently, Fayetteville State University, a constituent institution of The University of North Carolina and the second-oldest public institution of higher education in the state, made a decision to promote GreaterDiversity.com’s career services and news to students and alumni. FSU was founded in 1867 as the Howard School for the education of African Americans, today FSU serves a growing student body of over 5,300 and ranks among the nation’s most diverse campus communities.

Members of FSU’s Career Planning and Placement Office agreed to support GreaterDiversity.com’s effort to expand the equal opportunity umbrella for minorities and women by linking the university’s career resource center website, and encouraging students to post resumes, search for jobs and sign up for the GreaterDiversity.com free e-newsletter.

“We immediately saw the value of accepting [the] offer as a means to better serve the career development interests and needs of our students and alumni.
Therefore, I am delighted to inform you that the Career Planning and Placement Office at Fayetteville State University will support your efforts to bring existing career and business opportunities to the attention of students and alumni of HBCUs.” said Chancellor Willis B. McLeod.

Peter Grear, chief executive officer of GreaterDiversity.com, sees this endorsement from FSU as the beginning of a larger trend to bridge HBCUs across the nation with GD’s Job and Resume Bank, as well as, broadening access to career and education resources for minorities.

FSU consistently ranks among the nation’s top producers of African American baccalaureate and master’s graduates. The university ranks particularly high in North Carolina and the country in producing superior African American and other minority graduates in disciplines like Mathematics, Psychology, Computer Science, Education, Social Sciences, and History.
