ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS 

Sealed proposals will be received until the times listed below on Wednesday January 11th, 2017 in the CCCC Wicker Civic Center Board Conference Room, 2nd Floor, at 1801 Nash Street, Sanford, NC, 27330 for the construction of the:

Central Carolina Community College
Health Sciences Building
SCO ID# 14-11295-02A NCCCS# 2066
and the
Wicker Center Addition and Renovation
SCO ID# 14-11298-02A NCCCS# 2069

 Central Carolina Community College will bid two associated buildings separately and combined as described in the two scenarios presented below. The project(s) will be awarded based on the lowest overall cost resulting from these 2 scenarios:

  1. The lowest cost of two separate single bids for the Health Sciences Building Project and the Wicker
    Center Addition & Renovation Project

OR

  1. The lowest total cost of the combined bids of the New Health Sciences Building Project and the Wicker
    Center Addition & Renovation Project,

BID #1 (TWO SEPA RATE):
Up to 3:00 pm Wednesday January 11th,2017 for the furnishing of labor, material and equipment entering into single prime contracts for the construction of each building separately as follows:

  *   Wicker Center Addition and Renovation*

12,000 square foot 1-story building addition with associated site work and infrastructure. Various interior
renovations within the existing 36,000 sf 2-story facility

AND/OR

  *   New Health Sciences Building*

30,200 square foot 2-story building with associated site work and infrastructure

* Lump Sum Bids are for a separate single prime contract for each building project. Bid #1 will be
publically opened and read upon receipt for Bid #2.

BID #2 (TWO COMBINED):
Up to 4:00 pm Wednesday January 11th, 2017 and publicly opened and read for the furnishing of labor, material and equipment entering into a single prime contract for construction of the Health Sciences Building and the Wicker Center buldings as follows:


*   Wicker Center Addition and Renovation*

12,000 square foot 1-story building addition with associated site work and infrastructure.

Various interior renovations within the existing 36,000 sf 2-story facility.

                                                          AND

  *   New Health Sciences Building*

30,200 square foot 2-story building with associated site work and infrastructure

** Bid is for a combined single prime contract for both building projects

The state reserves the unqualified right to reject any and all proposals.

An open pre-bid meeting, mandatory for all General Contractors interested in bidding either or both projects, will be held at 3:00 pm on December 15, 2016 at the CCCC Science Building, Room 9106/9107, at 1105 Kelly Drive, Sanford, NC, 27330. The meeting will address project specific questions, issues, bidding procedures and bid forms. The meeting is also to identify preferred brand alternates and their performance standards that the owner will consider for approval on this project. In accordance with GS133-3 and SCO procedures the following preferred brand items are being considered as Alternates by the owner for this project:

Alternate G-2B (H): Electrified Door Hardware and Security Management
System – Health Sciences

Alternate G-1B (W): AV equipment as specified and shown in Phase 2, Alternate
G-1 TA Drawings – Wicker Center.

Alternate G-2B (W): AV equipment as specified and shown in Phase 2, Alternate
G-2 TA Drawings – Wicker Center.

Alternate G-6B (W): AV equipment as specified and shown in Phase 2, Alternate
G-6 TA Drawings– Wicker Center.
