The value and views of the youth of our communities must be protected and promoted to develop a more innovative platform. Part of the current student engagement platform is the central communications think tank. The New Black Student Movement The NBSM) think tank spawned by Greater Diversity News, along with other supporters in the trenches, provides a student-driven portal that invites students with empowerment ideas to share them and get feedback.
Speller, and her supportive adults and youth, are part of strengthening the think tank. View some of her activities published on The NBSM think tank and YouTube channel GDN. Numerous additional issue-related podcasts are being designed for publication. Outreach will be made to other student organizations and leaders throughout the nation. Coming soon will be articles and podcasts on It’s A Family Affair: NAACP Member and Institutionalizing Student Engagement. Their planned activities going forward will serve to reclaim and protect the “crown jewel” of the Civil Rights Movement, The 1965 Voting Rights Act.
