Immediately afterward will take part in ongoing protests of Bill Ackman to demand billionaire acknowledges the value of corporate diversity

NEW YORK, NY (February 21, 2024) – Rev. Al Sharpton, Founder and President of the National Action Network (NAN), will stand alongside attorney Ben Crump to condemn Navy Federal Credit Union over its discriminatory lending practices against behalf of Black, Latino, and Native American plaintiffs who were denied home loans. On Thursday, attorney Crump and the legal team will announce an amended complaint in the class-action lawsuit. A CNN analysis found wide disparities between loan approvals for applicants of color and white applicants. In 2022, Navy Federal Credit Union denied more than half of all mortgage applications received from Black applicants. Rev. Sharpton and Attorney Crump will condemn Navy Federal Credit Union for the demonstrated pattern of discrimination against Black and Brown customers.

Following the announcement, Rev. Al Sharpton will lead the eighth week of NAN’s picket outside the Manhattan office of hedge fund billionaire Bill Ackman in protest of his deceitful fight against DEI. Following Ackman’s pressure campaign to oust now former Harvard president Claudine Gay, Rev. Sharpton promised to sound the alarm on Ackman’s opposition to DEI, rallying crowds every Thursday outside Ackman’s Manhattan office. Protesters to demand Ackman renounce his racist fight against DEI and acknowledge the value of diversity in the workplace.
